Are Mealworm Products Really For Human Consumption?
The question is, “Are mealworm products really for human consumption?”
On the 6th
May 2021 on Euronews; one story reported that captured my interest was of
mealworms (the yellow mealworm) being approved by the EU for human
consumption, with other insect products to be added to the list.
Are we being
fooled into thinking it’s for HUMAN CONSUMPTION, when really, it’s for the
alien population that live amongst us!
Apparently,
mealworms are a beetle larva that is high in protein and is a great food to
feed a pet lizard. However, feed a bearded dragon too much mealworms and it can
cause obesity…
So, could
humans become obese if mealworms are introduced into our food chain, especially
when eaten regularly from a fast-food shop, or in a favourite snack or breakfast
cereal?
We’ve heard
that aliens live on the planet, so isn’t possible that they want to introduce their
delicacies into our food chain to make it more accessible to them?
Maybe reptilians
can’t stomach human food!
As this
product will be adapted to the consumer market. We’ll find biscuits, pasta,
burgers and even steaks camouflaged and under the pretence of protein.
So, shoppers
beware of protein-based products on shelfs in shops and supermarkets.
I wonder
if an image of a mealworm will be printed on the packaging?
Also,
remember to ask about the ingredients before ordering at a restaurant, just in
case you don’t want any extra mealworm protein in your starter, main course or desert…
It was
mentioned that 2 million people worldwide have consumed insects and so this is
the future…
Well, let’s
see, could I swap a tasty mealworm protein snack for a bowl of Weetabix in the
mornings?
Hmm, I think
not. It sounds too squidgy for me, but hey if your happy to try out this new
insect food than that’s great too…
But hey, I’m
no nutritionist.
So, are
mealworm products really for human consumption?”
What do you
think?
