Can Electrical Items Talk?
The question is, “Can electrical items talk?”
Now, I know that electricity is one form of energy and that everyday objects can change electricity, into another form of energy for e.g., using a torch creates light energy, whereas a doorbell creates sound energy.
I’ve even read articles about new technology.
One was about LG and their ‘talking’ washing machine. The other, was of the Samsung app that can connect to your washing machine and lets you select a cycle, even when you’re out.
Also, the future of wi-fi enabled washing machines is just the beginning, eventually all the kitchen appliances will be able to communicate with each other and also with you.
Wow, imagine that, whilst you’re at work your washing machine’s having a conversation with your cooker.
However, with all the futuristic technology due to burst onto the scene, it appears my washing machine has already received the memo!
For a few months now although infrequent, my washing machine beeps to me when doing a wash cycle. It sends out short bursts of beeps that are no longer than a minute. It’s as if a coded message is being emitted and sounds a little like Morse code.
The strange thing is, that it only happens when I’m alone in the kitchen. The first time it happened, it scared the hell out of me.
Now, when it starts to communicate with a series of beeps, I just say, ‘Hello, how are you,’ then carry on as normal. Whilst it, happily washes my clothes.
It’s just a shame I don’t understand what it’s trying to say!
Maybe I should learn Morse code.
What do you think?
