What’s the Aluminum Wedge of Aiud?

The question is, “What’s the aluminum wedge of Aiud?”

In 1974, a wedge like a hammer-head was found in Aiud, Romania with two mastodon bones (prehistoric relatives of elephants), that were found to be around 11,000 years old.

Now, this wasn’t unusual until you find out what the wedge was made of.

Surprisingly, it was made of aluminum and cased in a thin layer of oxide.

This was a surprise mainly due to the fact that aluminium had not been discovered until 1808 and that it had not been produced until 1885.

So, how could an object shaped as a hammer-head made out of a material we hadn’t even discovered then, be found?

Well, that is a question.

Now, I’m no archaeologist, but could it be possible that before dinosaurs and humans were created on Earth, another species existed?

Or could this simply be the ‘Mjolnir’ – Thor’s Hammer!

What do you think?
